Once again, I am here on my bloggie which remember as a blog that used to write yearly review, so there would be a record for me to refer in future perhaps. It has comes naturally to me now on every year, to remember on writing a review, a yearly summary on the happenings around me, myself and I. This has also begin to post as a challenge since I felt that my capability of writing a post has dropped from year to year, all thanks to short messages, vocabulary, essay checkers. Let's begin, le summary of 2020 of me to me who is reading this or anyone else who comes across this blog since I have not change it to private and there is no need for me to do so.
The year 2020 is unique and one-of-its-kind which we wished to have not experience it and for it not to repeat in the near future. It is a year of worldly breakdown phenomena. Every section, parts and edge of the world is affected by the ongoing pandemic up till now, and still going-on as this post is up. I am no less affected from this as well, indirectly through economy breakdown, home quarantine and so on that is taken to curb the pandemic from spreading further.
During the first few month this year, everything is just the usual repetitive routine of work, play and sleep. Sounds pretty balance, except it's not as work took the most time with extension after extension without any proper compensation. There is no overtime pay and assume there are, it would be in form of dinner and such which results in brainwashing on how we should be appreciative on this gesture, while we are the one who is doing all the stuffs on our off-period. This is not once in blue moon thing as we have to extend on a daily basis, they called this a great opportunity and chances to learn and experience. I am still surprised that I am able to resist for years, maybe the accomplishment that I have felt once completed the project is the one driving me to keep going on.
Aside from writing about work during this period, I have really nothing ongoing, as even on rest day I did receive calls and sometimes requires to work on weekends. Work has just took so much from me, this is when I start to wonder if this is really worth for me. Well, I did plan to stay till the end until the project completed before actually starts to look for better opportunity. There are many clashes throughout the whole period and isn't really nice to write it up, but that is something that I would surely remember. To put it short, the project is completed now and so for I done with it. That's about the work portion for this year I guess.
Starting from March, as per government orders, everyone got to work from home. This is something new and not surprising with the pandemic rising from day to day. My kind of work which totally out of scope from my working position doesn't really rhyme with this. Hence, I finally have some rest aside from doing what could be done from home on work-related stuff. During this period as well, it really shows not only from employee but also employer end's as well on their true nature on the decision and choices that they made. This really tells if the employee is worth keeping or the employer is really worth the stay.
After several month of lockdown and working from home, the rules ease down as number of cases has reach to a level which could be controlled. Everyone is back to work and so do I. Here comes, another few months of the same work routine, with nothing really much ongoing, as everyone still has to avoid everyone, no gathering and follow the SOPs.
Then, around October, I got hit by an unexpected chicken pox, the 2nd in my lifetime. So, I got legit rest this round as I am not able to do anything, as my condition is worst than the 1st round. Got it all over my body from head to toe. 2 +1 weeks of rest as they afraid the pox virus still around and could transmit to those colleague who is still yet to get it. After that, it is back with the usual except, I got to control on food intake to speed up recovery and demn scars.
After that, got da' bomb out once the project is completed. Sadly, the cases is up once again, and we got to sort of quarantine. A more relaxed version from the full lockdown. During this round, I pick up various knowledge and well as continue with my online games which has been generating passive income.
So there ya have it, the review this year, it is all work and quarantine for me. I did swab test twice and luckily both came in negative. Honestly, this year is all about Work and Me.
The review format I guess is kinda different this round as I did not review in categories. Obviously I met a lot of new people, experience way more than last year and probably complain and rant a lot more since I feels the balance is no longer there and felt like a forced workaholic this year.
