夢 世界

~Lost... in the endless night~

If there is one particular event which remind me on the blog, it would be either new year or end of the year..

Today is the last day of 2017. Lucky for me that I still remember to write my 2017 summary. I have not touch my blog at all throughout this whole year, except maybe once or twice, that I did update my this old rusty blog.

So here's 2017 summary, nothing to write.. haha

This year as a whole is another journey of knowledge and experience to me. Since I am back to studies for my bachelor degree, hence, I am back to the usual student's life the whole year. Student's life well is student's life, full of assignment, classes, slacking around and daydreaming. That is what sum up of what I have done throughout the whole year.

The year itself have 3 semester so, I have went through a full 2 semester of studies and right now on the last semester. The scale of fun and enjoy drop drastically from semester to semester. Hence, this semester, I am in total disaster mode for student.

The first sem of 2017 is nice, we have got to do social work and learn more on public welfare. We also try to act... which is part of our assignment and it did pretty OK I guess, since we have got nice marks for it. That's for the first sem o 2017...

The second sem... things get less enjoyable and hectic started to pile up. I could still remember it pretty well since it got transition into the current last sem which is the worst among the three. The second sem is where we have to take 6 subjects. It was fine, but not the timing as we've got classes up to 7 ~ 8pm. So, it is pretty much guessed that we have almost 0% focus for the last class on that particular day. That is still fine, but then, the marks format got changed where all subject changed to 50/50 scale instead of 40/60 scale. This means that, we have got MORE TASKS to do than before... I must have picked the wrong time to return back to studies. But then, things has to go on, the semester was a rough ones and luckily still manage to went through it.

Here comes the third and final sem. This sem is the carbon copy of previous sem with additional workload to cover which would be the FYP. FYP is not the true nightmare... the nightmare is on every subjects which is not an easy ones, which means, it gonna be HELL for us and it did. We have 14 weeks for this semester and all 14 weeks, I should say very very well utilized, that up till the final week 14, we've got assignment submission and presentation, compare to the usual week 14 which tends to focus more on revision-side. Hence, it ended up that none of us actually enjoy the semester, and student's life isn't get any better or that it suppose to be. It just feels that the new scale 50/50 is a wrong approach... it may helps student to pass or score better, but the extra workload due to increase in carry marks doesn't really sounds appealing. That is just my personal opinion that I prefer to cram for 1-week to learn everything that has been taught for the whole semester than to have the whole semester drowning on assignment, quiz, mini project, project and such.

I think that could be why I have nothing really to write to summarize for 2017 other than the hectic student's life which I went throughout this year. It is a great journey of knowledge and experience but not the method of delivery. That's it on the study part.

Moving on to lifestyle, the same old me, no major shift, nothing new and still v1.0 for myself, with exception, that I am more stress-looked due to assignment and stuffs. Even, some of my coursemates told me so LOL... Social wise, got to know moar and moar people, but then also loss some of the old ones... the usual thing that, "people comes and go and nothing that would last forever". Of course, there are some friends which still keep in touch, while some, just gone like the wind haha...

With that, I conclude the final post of year 2017 ---> signing off , bye bye 2017

I wrote less than 5 post this year..., good thing that I still remember that I got a BLOG and SHOULDN'T MISS THE SUMMARY OF THE YEAR.

This year must be very special that I actually start my first posting after 1/2 of the year went by. It is now May and hence, I have gone hiatus on updates for the entire first 1/2 of the year. Viewer who follows my blog (not expecting anyone though) sure would thought, "this person either GG or have abandoned his blog entirely, that there is not a single update since his last December posting". I myself even surprise when I first directed to the posting page where my last posting is on Dec' 16 and no updates on my blog since then...

Well, time to cover up, and ready for massive update... or it is time to actually dump anything I remember since 1/2 year ago. Hence, it gonna be a long essay (full of broken English and grammar errors, reader advised).

This year start-off in serious-mode and no room for fun... as I have my revision week right on the first week of the new year and final exam on the following week. Hence, I was in pretty serious-mode (I believe) as the exam marks my first exam for degree and well as for my starting grades or what the world called it as "CGPA". It lasted 2 weeks due to long semester exam. The papers kinda tough unless ones actually read and understand it. This is not something like you read and memorize it... not simpler as that anymore. Besides, doubt if anyone could actually memorize the entire subject as majority of the student having 5 or 6 subjects in the long semester. After that, everyone were given 3 weeks off before the next semester begins. Unlike other public uni, there is no long-term off such as 2-3 month before next semester start. Hence, part-time jobs is definitely off during the breaks unless you're long-term worker before on a particular shops or taking up events job. I did apply for one of the event job, sadly it got called off 2-3 days before the events started as the company has obtain service crew from another agent. So, there goes mushroom plantation daily till the new semester begins. It is not so bad though, as there I did went on few occasions for movies, dinner and late-night suppers but I couldn't recall the details much. Pretty normal occasions I believes with fellow course mate and friends.

The 3-weeks off aligned with CNY 2017, so there is no classes for me to attend during and after CNY 2017. I remember the 3-weeks off is a week before CNY, the CNY week and a week after CNY. Hence, there is plenty of time to spend before, during and after CNY. As far I could recall, there is nothing much to write for CNY this year. This year could be considered as the most-plain and simple CNY that I ever had. There is even not much hype around, perhaps economy wasn't that good this year could be one of the contributing factor, but that is on larger scale. As for my own, I did not bought much, just few new clothes after been pestered several times by my grandmother. I actually didn't want to bought any since I am on self-controlled budget ever since I continue to pursue my degree which partially sponsored (not gonna talks about it much here) as it was a bit private stuff. As usual, there is zero penny from the side who is suppose to provide this, can't blame though ~ as I already get used to it. Thus, after much pestering, I did bought few clothes for CNY this year. Then, the CNY reunion dinner which I not really like going this year as I'm sick days prior to it. I remember this was thanks to some market-bought "Nasi Lemak". Anyway, I did went since it is only once a year and just looking at those dish which I am not able to consume it all. I were there to give face only I guess... nothing much as I am not able to eat much and some food is a no-no for me during that time. The CNY week is all about growing mushroom and collecting red packets. Then, I remember to have reunion late-night supper with my secondary schoolmates. Thanks to Kyle and Way Hup for his ride then as I am unable to drive at night due to partial night-blindness. Catching up with them and most of them still on their degree final year. I would be the last in the group to graduate then, since I started late and went to work prior to my degree. There is nothing much on my end to actually share as well, as I still here while they study across state due to different public uni which offers them. Kinda regret as I did not get courses which I want back then, due to GG-fying results.

The new semester started not long after that and all of us got back our results. I would say it is a lot better than my own expectation. This was a short semester and just ended 3 weeks ago from me writing this post. There were only 3 subjects. However, one of it is really challenging and tough which is the co-curricular subject. At first, I just can't believe that it is actually a subject while in secondary schools, this THING is compulsory since you started in form 1 way up to form 6. While, feeling great as this is the only semester which I required to participate in co-curricular, it turns out that I am wrong on what is expected. This wasn't the same co-curricular that I have in secondary schools, joining clubs and society but, it was all about doing community service and be part of the contributing society. This would be a very long post (already this long) if I were to write about the whole stuff which I have experienced on this subject in this post. Perhaps, I would separate this to another post which solely on this co-curricular stuff. This subject consume the most time and also one of the most interesting ones that I have so far, aside from cracking heads on java in programming class...

There's a farewell gathering that happens around March if I recall correctly. That's one and only female and my senior during my diploma years would be going to Cambodia to start off her career. She did mention it was service-based IT field, so I am guessing it could be technical support (a team which I dislike to deal internally with during my job as 70% of them really irritates you and pretty slow in response to internal request while some not even bother till you spam them several times ). Anyway, we have our BBQ gathering which carved by the farewell lady(old enough to not being called as a girl xD). It was enjoyable ones as we did it at night, without campfire... so mobile phone flashlight is the new campfire for us to check on the BBQ status for the foods. (No pictures as I did not snap any and lazy to dig from their facebook pictures... which I need to find from thousands).

Moving on, I had my first severe allergic reaction for the first time, days after consuming seafood which I did not have any allergy to it before this. Great amount of rash started to develop and it was all over lower part of my body in few days. I did not suspect it to be allergic reaction but merely thought that it was just hygiene problem, so I took care of my hygiene and environment pretty well, but the rash still there and it started to itch. That was when I think, it is not simple as just simple rashes (must be dumb to not notice up till so much symptoms showing). Finally, I did went to clinic and got it treated, well it turns out to be seafood allergy and it could not be actually recovered in days times... and I got my exam the following week. Therefore, I follow the prescribed medicine and got it controlled especially on the itch. Then, I went for my exam as usual and controlled some food intake... and right up till now, there's still some rashes mark on my legs while the rest has completely disappeared. I still not sure, which of the seafood that triggered this allergic reaction as I did consume variety of seafood on that day as it was a buffet dinner and seafood is part of the variety that it offers. On the food review, I remember the seafood freshness level is completely out, but out of self-conscious, I still did ordered and consumed it.

The latest happenings should be on the Orientation's Day which just happen on last Friday. I confirmed on my attendance for it thru email (talk about how important email is now compared to my times where I only used email to registered for games). It seems this time, they were more organized compared to last time where my 1st orientation is completely out of schedule and we as new intake were left to wander and not knowing completely on the facilities and features. We still get to know about it later on as we begin our classes. There's addition event to this orientation where they present the dean's list award. Hence, I just got to know that there is no dean's list for February semester due to it been short semester and subject offered is kind of light and not up to standard where dean's list should be awarded (scholarship still up though). It was great to know then, as February semester is mainly internship program for those final year students. The itinerary states the orientation would last till evening session. I got off after the 1st half so I'm not sure if they did carried it out till late evening as mentioned or just left to wander like us a while after lunch hour. However, the 1st half is definitely better than what I have experienced during my orientation as a new intake.

This event has caught up-to-date as I am today, writing the first post of the year. Therefore, it is believed that, I have covered most of, if not all of the events (except co-curricular ones) which I could recall and up till this point. Thus, this is the updates on happenings during the 1st half of the year, up till beginning of May.

Till the next post, which shouldn't be far on the co-curricular review.
